Hospice is a specialized form of holistic, compassionate care provided by a team of professionals and volunteers in the patient's own home or residence. Hospice provides care for individuals who have a life-threatening illness and are no longer seeking treatment for a cure.

People with a terminal illness and a limited life expectancy often have special needs. Hospice provides a special kind of caring for patients and families through the work of the Interdisciplinary Team. The care plan includes medical, social, emotional, and spiritual treatment. Hospice philosophy follows that people matter even to the last minute of life. The Hospice patients and their families remain in control and direct their care with the aid of the Hospice team.
