The Lighthouse Hospice Inc. name has been recognized in southern New Jersey since 1996. Lighthouse Hospice is accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP). Lighthouse Hospice is an organization that is unique in both its hospice philosophy and practice. With a staff of competent professionals and support personnel, Lighthouse brings compassionate, quality care to patients, their families, and other healthcare providers who desire these services. At Lighthouse, we take care of our patients; we take care of ourselves and each other, and know that by doing so the company will be successful. At Lighthouse, “The answer is yes.” Our response times are short whether to simply answer a question, to assist and support a family confronted with multiple medical options, or to admit a patient to the full range of hospice services. We do not hesitate to say “yes”. The Lighthouse program offers a pre-referral evaluation service to patients while they transition from curative modalities to palliative care. If, during the evaluation, the patient chooses hospice care, admission to the Lighthouse Hospice program is begun immediately.

The Lighthouse clinical staff is committed to competency and compassion while providing efficient and effective interventions. With the successful attainment of national Board Certification in hospice and palliative care for more than two-thirds of eligible Lighthouse registered nurses and an equal number of its eligible Certified Home Health Aides, Lighthouse is able to offer true clinical service excellence to all of its patients. In addition, certification and/or advanced education in hospice administration, chaplaincy, bereavement counseling, social work and community outreach has been accomplished by Lighthouse Hospice professional personnel in each of these disciplines.

Lighthouse Hospice also maintains a “Partner” relationship with a national hospice pharmacy service, an exclusive relationship with a durable medical equipment company which permits “same-day” delivery of medical equipment when needed by our patients, and medical directorships representing the three largest hospital systems in the region.
